OUTDOOR LIVING – AN ARCHITECTURAL ASSET
(LIMITED TIME ONLY)
Outdoor living is the strongest trend in homes nationally and there is no sign of declining interest. Why? Across the country, particularly since 2020, we became tired of being indoors from November through April. Ohio winters are particularly rough, not so much from the cold, but all the gloomy, gray days. There’s a reason local towns were named Dublin, London, Lancaster & Mansfield, they’re just like those towns in England – they’re smothered in gray for too many months.
Summer is around the corner, so let’s be outside in the day & the night, but realize, limited time only. Cold gray skies come in the Fall along with our beloved Scarlet & Gray… so let’s get busy.

TRANSFORM THE NIGHT WITH LIGHT
Summer & fall nights outside with a table, food and friends are in some ways the best part of the year. There are many outdoor summer evenings, that beg to be enjoyed and outdoor lighting makes the transition from light to dark, day to night, as a easy as a few buttons to push.
Outdoor lighting is the art of creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for you to live and entertain outdoors, whether it’s a backyard, patio, or a garden area. With the right outdoor lighting, you’re creating a place and a space where you want to be… and stay a while.
SOLID wifi MAKES IT ALL EASIER
Seems almost anti-audio to suggest having WiFi outdoors in second place. But times have changed. Having a solid and robust outdoor WiFi enables all the options, so let’s do it right.
Avoid Repeaters – Repeat – Avoid Repeaters
If you install a wireless repeater with hopes of extending your WiFi range your problems have just begun. The problem comes when you leave the back yard, take your phone or laptop back inside to the other end of the house. The device will stay connected to the outdoor repeater. You will be thinking… “what happened, I came inside and I lost the WiFi?”
Mesh networks are the solid solution. Yes, they cost more. But they don’t come with headaches.
Outdoor speakers are not indoor speakers made waterproof. They are engineered to sound completely different as they are being used in a completely different acoustic environment.
Outdoor speakers are designed to acoustically offset the large open expanse of the outdoors without floors, walls, and ceilings to help reflect the sound and augment the bass. The outdoor speaker is acoustically engineered to deliver deep bass and wide dispersion despite not having traditional reflective surfaces. Specified and installed properly, outdoor speakers can present an acoustic stage that is rich, expansive and well detailed. Learn how to do it right in our Outdoor Speaker Guide article.
Installing an outdoor TV can be an exciting and rewarding experience, allowing you to enjoy cartoons with your kids, movies on date night or have your own team over for OSU Game Day #BackYard.
To do it right, there are fundamentals that should be considered before installing an outdoor TV. We review industry best practices, common mistakes, myths, challenges, and a range of outdoor TV’s that will have you and the family outdoors for Summer and Fall.
